The definition of capitalism is fairly wide, so for purposes of this blog we’ll use a general definition saying that capitalism is the freedom to profit commercially bounded by the democratic forces of the marketplace.
Capitalism = Economic Freedom
And everyone knows the definition of war, a state of hostility or conflict or antagonism.
It is this attack, a campaign to throw out an economic system that, warts and all, has served humanity better than any other in history and that is well-known in our popular culture, which is discussed and analyzed here on Telofski.com.
Here at Richard Telofski on “The War on Capitalism” I look at the groups conducting this assault. They fall into five categories:
- Government (Legislative, Executive (Regulatory), and Judicial
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) & Activist groups
- Business leaders (yes, business leaders)
- Radical educators
- Mainstream media
Of course, not everyone in these groups, and not every group in these categories, participates in the war on capitalism. Only some.
This blog discusses and analyzes the attempts of the “some” to defeat capitalism.
Why do I write about this topic? For two reasons.
The first reason is to help readers realize that the assault on free markets, and therefore on personal freedom, is much greater than that reported in an unbalanced press.
The second reason is to give readers a different perspective on this “societal tsunami” so that they can arrive at a more informed opinion about the people who influence the progress of our society, and then decide what to do about it.
