Network Solutions Annoys Me, But Then Makes It Up

Yesterday was not a pleasant day where I work, Kahuna Content. As a social media consultant I’m highly dependent upon my network connection. We reported to Network Solutions, our web and blog service provider, on Friday, March 14 that our blogs were loading slowly. We diagnosed the problem as Network Solutions as all of our other web access was running hot and light. We just couldn’t get to our sites very easily. They gave me a service ticket number, saying it would be corrected in 1 to 3 days. Gee, thanks.

On Monday, March 17 when I came into the office the problem was still there. Slow loading pages on our websites. Only our websites. I called them again, which is a feat in itself since their lines are usually busy. Finally getting through I found that they did not have the service ticket which I reported on Friday. By now our site are running about as slowly as a turtle eating molasses, if that metaphor even makes sense. We’re social media consultants. We can’t have slow running sites.

Again, they gave me a service ticket number, saying it would be fixed in 1 to 3 days. This was at 10AM. By noon, the problem was getting worse. I called them again, saying that if they didn’t fix it toute de suite, I’d be taking my business elsewhere.

That must have hit a nerve. At 4Pm our sites, went down totally, but minutes later came roaring back like Katrina through New Orleans. Our sites are now running fine. Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be patient.
